This harness maker's bench was made by my grandfather, Eugene Bucklin.  The seat is pine, the legs are oak and the clamps are walnut.
This carraige lantern is almost identical to one in a museum in Bratislava, Slovakia.   The museum piece is dated fromk the early 1700's.  It is lit by a candle which has a spring under it which keeps the flame in the lantern as the candle burns down.
